Why President Uhuru has Maintained Low Profile After Flopped China Loan

President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained a low profile since his return from China almost two weeks ago where he and ODM Leader Raila Odinga had gone to seek the signing of a deal which would see the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to Kisumu.

Uhuru’s sudden disappearance has left many Kenyans wondering whether he is even in the country with the recent deletion of all his social media accounts fueling the rumours even more.

Many have argued that the President is a symbol of statehood whose whereabouts must be made clear by his office.

His absence at last week’s Labour Day celebrations at Uhuru Park didn’t go down very well with a majority of workers who claim he has been hiding from responsibilities.

David Ndii now claims that the president is in Sagana State Lodge ‘licking his wounds and drowning his sorrows in bucketloads of single malts’.

His absence from the media has sparked speculation about his whereabouts with some Kenyans questioning whether or not he is in the county.
