Its been reported that a pregnant lady boarded a private car in Bomet heading to Nairobi but she never made it.
The reporter alleged that she was kidnapped and that phone signal shows she is in Makongeni Thika.
The office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations which has lately been working with citizens in nabbing criminals by obtaining information from them have responded to the report.
They have requested for more information on the crime as well as a formal complaint on the same if there was one. The DCI also needed the OB number of the case.
The case of kidnappings in Kenya report survey captured in the Judiciary’s State of Administration of Justice annual report surveyed 20 counties.
Interestingly, the report notes that more people are being kidnapped by a relative or acquaintance – 989 respondents reported this, and the kidnaps are done by men.
Respondents in Nairobi reported having heard the highest number of kidnapping incidents, at 86 responses. Turkana was second at 78 and Kirinyaga third with 76.
Despite all possibilities, we hope the pregnant lady is found safe.
