ODM Leader Raila Odinga has just performed a William Ruto in Migori County. Raila and his Tanga Tanga team led by Junet Mohammed and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
The former Prime Minister’s itinerary includes a stop at the home of Nyatike MP Tom Odege. Odege’s election was put in jeopardy after the 2017 elections when his main challenger Fredrick Ogenga filed a petition in court.
The High Court in Homa Bay ordered a recount of votes in December 2017. The vote recount indicated that Odege had won the elections with 10, 222 votes at least 300 more than his challenger. The court upheld his win.
Raila also commissioned the construction of the Masara-Sori road and visited the proposed site for the Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme.
Last year, DP William Ruto was the defacto government leader who commissioned several projects across the country. He was branded Tanga Tanga by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Early this year, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i was appointed to the role of Chief Minister, a position that put him in charge of all government projects.
But that has not prevented the former Prime Minister from launching different projects in Luo Nyanza. He commissioned the construction of a new KMTC campus in Awendo.
It seems the handshake is overworking.
