City Lawyer sends a special request to DCI

A few months ago, details emerged on how the money meant for construction of two dams in Rift Valley vanished.

The issue led to political wars of mouth when it was said that Ksh 21 billion had already been paid out.

The matter took another twist when deputy president Dr William Ruto rubbished the claims, citing that it was only Ksh 7 billion that was in question.

Probe into the matter kicked off. But have we heard of any progress so far?

Top City lawyer Donald Kipkorir on Friday had to send a special request to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over the matter.

The renown lawyer wrote to George Kinoti-led DCI requesting him to arrest the suspects in the scandal.

He cited that there are some other foreigners pausing as Arror and Kimwarer dams contractors, questioning their qualification.

“Dear DCI, Hope today, you will arrest those who shared & ate Kshs. 21B using ghost designs of Arror & Kimwarer Dams. And also the Italians masquerading in Eldoret as ready to build the ghost Dams. Do they have requisite qualifications & visas?” he posted.

Do you think the DCI will bow to pressure and arrest the dam scandal suspects?
