Concubines Ruin Burial of Wealthy Bodaboda

Bodaboda have come once again on the spot-light after a burial turned chaotic, forcing local authorities to intervene.

The Kerugoya drama began when one woman, Jane Wambui, believed to have been the one staying with the deceased Mr Peter Muriuki, appeared at the Kerugoya County Referral Hospital in the company of close family members to take the deceased’s body for burial.

At the County Hospital, Wambui was to meet two other women filling papers to collect Mriuki’s body from the morgue.

Before long, two other women approached the morgue mourning and ready to collect the body of “their” husband.

Area MCA Harrison Ngiria who happened to be passing by the facility heard the commotion and intervened in the matter which was already creating tensions.

“As their MCA, I had to take it upon myself and use all means to ensure that the trader was buried as planned,” Ngiria noted.

Ms Wambui lamented that the deceased, who was known to be in multiple romantic relationships, could have let her know of the women before he died.

“If Muriuki had disclosed he had other women, this drama would not have happened but now we have exposed our family, there is nothing we can do since we have been subjected to the public ridicule,” Wambui expressed.

The late Mr Muriuki’s brother had to sign the burial permit to be given access to bury the body.

At the funeral which happened in Ngomongo village, all the five women attended the ceremony.

However, Muriuki’s brother was to be given charge of his late brother’s estate.
