Raila’s close ally Adams Oloo has also been appointed as a member of the Kenya School of Government Council.

Oloo is the co-chair of the Building Bridges Initiative.

The new appointments are set to raise tension in the Jubilee government especially after DP William Ruto’s allies argued that the President had not appointed his deputy’s friends.

“It’s those who support the handshake or those who attack Ruto that got the jobs,” Sirisia MP John Waluke said last Sunday.

“It’s like the two of you were in the kitchen cooking food and ended up burning your hands but after the food is ready and on the table, you turn and chase away your friend Ruto so that you dine alone.” Matungu MP Justus Murunga said.

The only person from the Rift Valley to get a job in the recent appointments is former MP Franklin Bett who was reappointed as chair of the Agriculture Corporation Board (ADC)

President Kenyatta also made the controversial decision of appointing Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore to the National Cancer Institute.

Bob collymore who has publicly revealed that he suffers from Leukemia had contemplated stepping down from Safaricom over health issues.
