Mr Mutahi, who appeared before Resident Magistrate Ruth Kefa, denied the charges and was released on Sh50,000 bond or Sh30,000 cash bail until May 15 when the case will be mentioned.

In the same court, two men were each fined Sh3,000 or two months prison after they were arrested for traffic offences.

The court heard that on May 6, Laban Wanyagu was arrested for allowing Jackson Muriuki to ride his motorcycle despite the latter not having a license.

They both pleaded guilty and asked the court for leniency citing that they were parents of minors.
