Controversial city lawyer Dr. Miguna Miguna has come to the aid of his longtime ‘enemy’ and embattled Deputy President William Ruto terming the recent corruption allegations against him as baseless and void.

Miguna, through his Facebook account, questioned how the deputy president can get away with such huge sums of money when it is on record that it is only President Uhuru Kenyatta who can authorize payments of more than Shs 1 Billion.

Uhuru Kenyatta says that William Samoei Ruto stole billions of our money from dirty deals in Government ministries. However, in Kenya, only the President can authorize payments of more than Shs 1 Billion. As the Deputy President, William Ruto has no power and cannot authorize any payments in Government except as expressly assigned to him and directed by Uhuru Kenyatta. Did Uhuru Kenyatta authorize Ruto’s thefts while drunk or are Kenyans been lied to?

[To speak the truth in a dictatorship is to be revolutionary

Miguna cautions Kenyans against listening to propaganda saying that those in power (despots) are using such methods in order to tame their competitors. Most Kenyans were, however, quick to question Miguna’s revelations at such a time and wondering why he had kept quiet for that long.

Bismark Koech  “If it wasn’t for this so-called handshake, these lawyers in opposition would have shed light on this matter. Kumbe “pr” is the only one to authorize such a huge sum of money. Hapa tunachezwa. Ruto is being used as a scapegoat. NYS, MASHAMBA, SGR & DAMS, Now let’s wait for HUDUMA scandal, coming soon, it won’t be news to me”.

Miguna also observed that by betraying William Ruto, Uhuru will have made true beliefs held by many Kenyans that the Kikuyu elites cannot be trusted to support other tribes apart from their own in Kenya. He added that the same fate had befell Jaramogi and Raila Odinga earlier on.

Miguna was expected to come back to Kenya on April but he could not make. He gave some reasons as to why he didn’t come as anticipated:

“On March 11, 2019, I formally requested the Kenya National Commission for Human Rights and Law Society of Kenya to enforce Justice Chacha Mwita’s ORDER for the return of my valid Kenyan passport to enable me to travel to and enter Kenya unconditionally this month.

However, because the State has once more defied a valid court Order and refused to return my valid Kenyan passport it illegally seized on February 6, 2018, or to issue me with a new Kenyan passport, as the High Court of Kenya has ordered multiple times, I have had to reluctantly postpone my flight to Nairobi this April” he explained.
