Illicit Campus Relationships on the Spot after Multiple Students Die

Illicit relationships in the Kenya Universities have come under sharp scrutiny after the parents of a lady student whose decomposing body was found in a hostel denied ever knowing her boyfriend.

The body of Ann Kanario, 21 was found at a hostel near Kenya Methodist University alongside his boyfriend’s body which was dangling from the roof of the house.

Parents to the late Kanario have since denied ever knowing their daughter had a boyfriend, since they provided for her daily needs at the institution.

The denial has brought into sharp focus the habit of students failing to disclose their lovers to parents.

In a bizarre incident, a Moi University medicine student was hacked to death by her jilted boyfriend after a short argument.

The boyfriend was to later be subjected to mob justice shortly before being rescued by police.

The slain student’s parents were to later in April say they did not know Naftali Kinuthia- the student’s boyfriend.

Students have in the last couple of months borne the brunt of depression, resulting in violence among themselves.
