After suffering a last-minute sucker punch in their last League match against Tusker, Sofapaka will have a chance to redeem themselves when they face off with Western Stima United on Wednesday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Batoto Ba Mungu’s coach John Baraza was left furious with the referee for allowing play to continue beyond the 4 minutes added on but the truth of the matter is Sofapaka lacked concentration at a crucial period of the match. They had been cruising for the entire match up until Boniface Muchiri pulled one back with 5 minutes to play for Tusker.

Western Stima has had a rocky season so far but should come into the match on high spirits following their positive draw with league leaders and defending Champions Gor Mahia in their last league assignment. They are 13th on the log with 31 points and have only won one of their last 5 fixtures, against bottom side Mount Kenya United.

Sofapaka cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to keep up their slim hopes of clinching what would be their second league title. Western Stima, on the other hand, are giant slayers and will be up for this! Keep it here for all the details on the match as it happens…
