AFC Leopard’s hopes of a top finish were dealt a huge blow when they drew 1-1 with Zoo Kericho in a Kenya Premier League match played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Wednesday afternoon.

Zoo Kericho had barely settled into the match when Kenyan International Paul Were gave the second most successful Kenyan team the lead in the 12th minute following good work From Wyvonne Isuza. Leopards were cutting through Zoo’s defense almost at free will but their finishing was just not up to scratch on the day. First-half found the score at 1-0.

The second half was moe of the same with Leopards dictating the tempo of the match and the chances in abundance but again they could not find the right finish. Zoo Kericho sensed they could get something from the match and slowly strung a few passes together late on.

Their brave approach was rewarded with 3 minutes of normal time left to play when they broke on a swift counter found the back of the net to even the scores. The draw leaves AFC Leopards 10th on the log with 38 points while Zoo Kericho are still second from bottom with 22 points.
