Billionaire Mengi’s body handled like a cargo at airport–Photos

The remains of the late billionaire Reginald Mengi arrived in Tanzania Monday and was received by magnitudes that thronged streets to catch a glimpse of the casket.

Dr Mengi’s body has been taken to Karimjee Hall, Dar es Salaam for the public to pay final respect on Tuesday.

According to the family spokesperson Michael Ngalo, the deceased remains will be transported to Machame, Moshi–his ancestral home on Wednesday awaiting burial that has been scheduled for Thursday 9th May.

Among notable Tanzanians that have paid their tributes is the former President William Benjamin Mkapa.

“During my presidency, Dr Mengi, through my various interactions, made me a better president,” stated Mkapa.

Dr Mengi passed away on Thursday, 2nd May after a short-illness while undergoing treatment in Dubai.
