Barcelona Forced To Make Painful Decision to Sign De Ligt

Sensational Ajax central defender Matthijs de Ligt has been the subject of discussion in Europe recently and Barcelona have stepped up their game to secure Ligt’s sign.

The defender, who has helped his team succeed in clinching the domestic cup without too much struggle has been a target of many European clubs this summer.

The 19-year old began to rock Europe when he showed a sublime display in the Champions League competition along side his teammate and midfielder Frankie de Jong.

Many teams have since showed their interest to sign de Ligt including Liverpool, Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal.

However, Barcelona are the ones who have spoken loudly about their desire to sign the Dutchman but they were recently frightened by the decision of de Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola.

It was reported that Raiola was not pleased with Barcelona’s offer and wanted a club that will offer a better offer.

This prompted Barcelona to hint that they will step up their offer in bid to secure Ligt’s move to Nou Camp.

And now, according to reports, Barca is reportedly clear on their bid and have accepted to increase the fee.

Ajax’s Sporting Director Marc Overmars is reported to have told Juventus’ sporting director Fabio Paratici that the Blaugrana have agreed to sign De Ligt for 80 million euros.

Juventus were also on the frontline among the clubs who wanted to have the star.

As it stands, Barcelona are the favorites as the Dutch defender has also declared his desire to play for Barca with his teammate Frankie de Jong, who had signed for Barcelona in January.
