Warning signs of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are Swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus that cause discomfort and bleeding.

Now,After having a baby especially after a vaginal delivery many women develop hemorrhoids.

SYMPTOMS

Pain, rectal itching, bleeding after having a bowel movement, or a swollen area around the anus.

CAUSES
For pregnant/postpartum moms, hemorrhoids are often a result of stress on the perineum in the months before, during and delivery.

Veins work like valves to push blood back up to the heart, and when those “valves” become weakened, they can swell with blood.

Imagine how the stress of carrying a baby, and then pushing a baby out during vaginal delivery, can cause the veins to pop out.

Additionally, all of the hormones going through your body during pregnancy and birth affect how these veins work.

King Kaka’s wife Nana Owiti has open up on how she discovered she had hemorrhoids

” One day,A few days after having Gweth,I went to the bathroom. I strained a bit of cos and cleaned up. It wasn’t strange to get a few blood stains because of LOCHIA(Every woman experiences postpartum discharge). My shock was when I stood up before I flashed the toilet. It was filled with a whole lot of blood. Scary. I felt a little pain on my perineum area but I thought well. Maybe it’s the episiotomy. I called my doc to inquire of cos and he guided me on self testing for Hemorrhoids. That brings us to our Topic for today”

TREATMENT * You can use a basin filled with warm water or a bath to soak yourself in warm water. This helps hemorrhoids to shrink. Do this two to four times a day. * Apply witch hazel to the hemorrhoids to soothe. Keep the witch hazel cool in the refrigerator, then apply with cotton balls. * Sit on a pillow or waffle cushion to relieve pressure on the rectum. Sitting in a rocking chair or recliner may also be more comfortable than sitting in a straight chair. * Hemorrhoid creams, ointments, suppositories or sprays are available over-the-counter and can produce short term relief. Your health care provider can recommend a brand that is best for you. ******Swipe left***** #Parenthood101 #HereToHelp
