Unmasking James Nyoro, the Man Overseeing Governor Waititu’s Downfall

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is a hunted man. And his Deputy Governor James Nyoro is now fully armed to oversee his downfall.

A recent audit interview by the Senate has put Waititu him on spot over his questionable expenditure over the county money. This gave Nyoro an opportunity to unleash his longtime beef with his boss. The recent being a major exposure on how the governor has been milking the county treasury dry.


Nyoro accused his boss, of presiding over a corrupt and an incompetent administration that has been allegedly milking the county treasury dry and the Kaa Soba initiative that he has been using to milk the Ksh. 2 M per day.

Nyoro, alongside other four politician’s partnered with governor Ferdinand Waititu in the run up to last year’s polls to oust former governor William Kabogo.

Under the United for Kiambu umbrella, Nyoro led fierce campaigns that saw Waititu defeat Kabogo with  a landslide win in both the party nomination and the general election.

Nyoro just like the other four members of the united for Kiambu had declared interest in the governor seat.

However, the leaders under the united  for Kiambu banner settled on Waititu to fly the ticket based on his popularity.

In the 2013 general election, Nyoro contested  for the Kiambu governor seat losing to Kabogo. Nyoro is an agricultural economist from the University of Nairobi and London’s’ Wayre college.

The Kiambu deputy governor has worked as the Managing Director of the Rockefeller foundation in charge of the African region. In 2016, Nyoro worked as an advisor to the government on matters Agriculture and policy in the Office of the Deputy President.

The Kiambu deputy governor describes himself a Christian, a family man and likes adventuring.

Nyoro says that their agenda under the United for Kiambu is to bring real development to the people.

He also says that their focus is to fight corruption, tribalism and ensure equality for all the people.

There have been claims that the deputy governor is in bad terms with his boss (Waititu) over county leadership and decision making.

Nyoro who is considered  a sharp  and smart politician  has several times denied such claims insisting that they are working closely with governor Waititu for the interest of the Kiambu people.
