Hours after Youtube pulled down an incitement song which glorifies femicide, the song has resurfaced online under a different name.

The song dubbed ‘Pigwa Shoka’ was pulled down after public uproar, however the song produced under Sheddy Empire production has been re-uploaded under “Pigwa Shoka -Kenyan All Stars” title.

Ezekiel Mutua has been warning on such songs after the recent murder of Moi University student Ivy Wangeci who was axed by alleged boyfriend.

This comes after Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua called for immediate action against individuals behind pigwa shoka song.

We alerted @Google, which owns @YouTube who committed to take action through their “Trusted Flaggers” office in Kenya. We are saddened by the delay, global platforms take long on such decisions as the global community policy standards differ from one jurisdiction to another.

However, unless their local trusted flaggers do not understand Kiswahili, this content is unpalatable and cannot be allowed in any civilised society. Such content should be blocked from circulation and the culprits arrested.
