Courts Bashed After Freeing Controversial Gang Linked to StateHouse

Kenyans on Twitter Monday bashed the courts after four men captured on video as they assaulted a man identified as Lloyd Mango.

Kenyans protested the move, saying that releasing the suspects would jeopardize the safety of Mango, whom they said may be killed.

A video shared by Robert Alai showed the gang whipping and kicking Mango on the stomach even as they interrogated him about revealing some piece of information.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations moved into the matter, arresting four of the gang members behind the assault.

The men were charged at Milimani Law Courts with causing grievous harm and malicious damage.

Each of the four suspects was released on a Sh300,000 cash bail or a Sh500,000 bond.
