Celebrities have today ushered in the Holy Month of Ramadhan in style and even Christians have joined their Muslim brothers and sisters to wish them all the best in their fasting month.

Ramadhan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm) to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief.

This annual observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

Some of the Kenyan celebrities who have shared their goodwill wishes as the Holy Month begins include; Brenda Wairimu, Rashid Abdallah, Esther Passaris, Lulu Hassan, Jamal Gadaffi, Victoria Kimani among others.

The month lasts 29–30 days based on the visual sightings of the crescent moon, according to numerous biographical accounts compiled in the hadiths.

While fasting from dawn until sunset, Muslims refrain from consuming food, drinking liquids, smoking, and engaging in sexual relations.

Some Muslim celebrities like Harmonize had hinted on how he plans on refraining from sexual relations with his fiancee saying that she will be travelling overseas for a while and he believes that it will be manageable to him.
