Murathe celebrates exclusion of Kalenjins from ambassadorial jobs

Former Jubilee Vice Chairman was on Friday was a happy man apparently because no single Kalenjin appeared in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s list of eighteen new ambassadors.

“Congratulations my brothers and sisters. The handshake is working, Murathe,” said on his facebook wall.

“Kenya is ours all. If you aren’t seeing your tribesman/woman you can go shout in the streets,” he said.

It is not clear why for Murathe ‘us all’ excludes certain communities, but his venom has in the past been directed at Deputy President William Ruto.

For Murathe, either the DP is the face of a community he doesn’t like or every Kalenjin is a potential supporter of DP Ruto whom he hates. A number of Kenyans reacted to Murathe’s highly provocative comment.

“Don’t threaten us David,” Ephraim Oanda David warned him.

“Shenzi wewe kabisa,” Shadrack Kiptugen retorted.
Okinda Paul defended him against criticism and said, “Kalenjingas kindly please spare us feelings, kaeni huko Eldoret kwa cereals mkingoja opposition 2022,” he said.

But many more people who commented told Murathe off than those who supported him.

“Lacoste KE told Murathe, “Wewe pambana na pombe na uzee.”
“My old friend, just sleep, you are losing this battle,” said Ronny Lincoln Njogu.

According to Miguna Miguna, there was a disproportionately heavy Kikuyu presence in those appointed.

“Out of that number, 13 are Kikuyus like Uhuru Kenyatta, 1 is Luo, 1 is Luhya, 1 is Kamba,” he said.
