In response, Interior Ministry spokesperson Wangui Muchiri termed the reports as false noting that registration was progressing well in most parts of the country.

“News circulating claiming to have hacked Huduma Namba utterly false. The exercise is going strong with 23.5 million secure registered persons,” she noted.

Additional information by the National Government Communications Centre (NGCC) assured that the authorities had put in place stringent security measures to secure people’s personal information.

“The Government tested and subsequently put in a place a comprehensive spectrum of security measures long before rolling out the mass registration exercise. Hence, the reports about the hacking of the Huduma Namba system is fake and should be duly ignored,” the communication unit stated.

Earlier in April, CS Matiang’i divulged that registration for Huduma Namba had surpassed the 20 million mark.

He commended members of the public who had turned up to register for heeding the government’s call to submit themselves to the exercise.

National Assembly Leader Aden Duale on his urged the Ministry of Interior to fast track issuance of ID to youths and elderly from the pastoralist community.
