Labour Day Turns Awry After Children Die on Bouncy Castle

Labour Day turned ugly after two children merry-making a bouncy castle were killed.

The two died when a strong wind swept off the bouncy castle, lodging minors into the air, from where several children were injured after falling to the ground.

The bouncy castle went was hoisted up in the air in Laiyuan county in China, much to the surprise of bystanders and parents who were watching their children jumping up and down of the castle.

“The bouncy castle was swept up, as high as two storeys,” an eyewitness, surnamed Wang, told The Beijing News.

“I ran over … I saw a girl who fell onto the steps, her leg was broken. Moving closer, another child looked like they had landed head first.”

Three people in charge of the bouncy castle were arrested immediately after the incident.

Eight people were admitted to a hospital where medics said were in stable condition.

Angry social media users blamed the incident on the bouncy castle operators, saying they did not take safety into consideration.

“Don’t blame the tornado. This is all because of inadequate safety procedures. They didn’t secure the sides of the bouncy castle with ropes,” one commenter wrote on Weibo, China’s popular microblogging service.

In March, some other two children died from a bouncy castle while 20 were critically injured in the incident.
