Barely days after the famous comedian Kansiime was branded dead by news, another Kenyan musician has also been pronounced dead.

Kalenjin musician Faith Chepkirui has dismissed newspaper reports indicating she is one of the women who have been killed in Kenya since the beginning of 2019.

Chepkirui who rose to fame through Therui Band was listed by a local newspaper on Friday, May 3, among 14 slain victims who were allegedly either murdered by their husbands or lovers.

In an exclusive phone interview with a local publishing house on the morning of Friday, May 3, the singer termed the death report as propaganda and baseless rumours, stating she was in good shape.

“They are propagandists. I have received many calls concerning my alleged death and wondered what was going on. I want to state categorically that I am well and relaxing at home in Bomet. I don’t know why they chose to do so. If there is somebody who will shut down that publication, then it’s me,” she said.

The musician was reported to have been stabbed three times to death by her boyfriend identified as Mathew Kiptoo over a small relationship brawl on February 17, 2019.

Further, the publication said Chepkirui had just joined Kaiboi Technical Training Institute in Nandi county when she met her death.
