Kenyaβs Eliud Kipchoge wins a record fourth title in the 39th edition of London Marathon on Sunday afternoon.
Eliud Kipchoge took the London Marathon19 in 2:02:37 beating out a crowded field of Elite Ethiopian Athletes like iconic Mo Farah.
In the women category Chicago marathon champion Brigid Kosgei outshined second placed Kenyan counterpart and defending champions Vivian Cheruiyot to claim her first London Marathon title in dramatic fashion.
She led four other Kenyans to claim top places with the only Ethiopian coming third in the race.
Kipchoge was also the outright favourite to retain the menβs title, having won in Berlin in September in a trail-blazing world record time of 2 hours, 01 minute and 39 seconds, a feat that saw him erase 78 seconds from the previous world record.
The 34-year-old Kenyan will become the first man to hold the Olympics, Worlds and world marathon record at the same time.
