Manchester United urged to let Pogba go

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told by Jamie Carragher to let Paul Pogba leave the club this summer.

Pogba continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford with Real Madrid termed as a possible destination for the French international. The World Cup winner has been flirting with Madrid since the return of countryman Zinedine Zidane. Pogba’s recent form has been questioned by a number of pundits and Carragher thinks the best time to let the midfielder leave is this summer.

“If Real Madrid have £100 million and Zinedine Zidane wants him, United can solve the first of many problems as their long reconstruction gets underway,” he wrote on his column.

“There is a massive gulf between Pogba’s influence at United and the standards set by David Silva, De Bruyne and Fernandinho a few miles away. For them, bad games are rare,” he continued.

“There are no brief, explosive spells during a season, but consistent, top-level performances, bringing the best from themselves and – just as importantly – those around them.”

Carragher believes the speculation around his future is enough of a reason for United to get rid.
