Kenyans team up with Miguna to troll Atwoli for Supporting Jubilee’s ‘conmanship’

COTU boss Francis Atwoli’s 15% wage increase promise to workers on Saturday hit the rock after firebrand Lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna attacked him on Social media.

Mr Atwoli said the body will support the housing tax as long as a 15 percent general wage increase by the government is granted.

“The housing fund is a good thing. This is a good deal as you will come out as beneficiaries,” he told a shop stewards meeting at Cotu headquarters in Gikomba, Nairobi, on Saturday.

“I told the government that they should give us the 15 percent wage increase in exchange for the implementation of the new levy.”

Cotu rejected the new levy in September 2018, terming it unconstitutional and arguing that workers and employers were not consulted. But has Atwoli changed the tune? Was he either bribed?

His change of tune on the Housing levy however put him in a hard tussle with Miguna Miguna alongside other Kenyans.

“Francis Atwoli, the illegal 1.5% tax is being applied by May, 2019. When is the 15% wage increase on all Kenyan workers coming into effect? Giving concessions for unlawful taxes before the wages are increased proves that you are senile. Respect workers!” Miguna Miguna posted.

His post got a back up from a section of Kenyans on Twitter who teamed up to troll Atwoli.

Here are some of the reactions.
