Homa Bay: Fisherman, 45, arrested for allegedly defiling 16-year-old girl repeatedly

A week ago, Rasira Beach in Homa Bay County was trending after a fisherman was killed by a hippopotamus while taking bath at the beach.

Days after the incident, Fishermen from Homa Bay netted three big bombs believed to have been used by colonialists. But this time round, a fisherman from Homa Bay is not for more bad reasons!

A 45-year-old fisherman was on Saturday arrested for allegedly defiling a Form Two student at Gingo Beach, Homa Bay County.

John Ouma alias Salim was arrested by officers from Gingo Police Station while trying to escape after reportedly committing the offence on Friday night.

Mr. Ouma, who is fisherman at Kabwao beach, is said to have lured the 16-year-old girl to the neighboring Gingo beach where he repeatedly defiled her.

Area Assistant County Commissioner Abdimalik Abdullahi said the suspect tried to escape after being caught red-handed but was later arrested.

According to Mr. Abdullahi, the suspect was nabbed by police officers who rescued him from an angry mob baying for his blood. What do you think should be done to those people found defiling minors?
