Embattled Kenyan Athletics Champion Asbel Kiprop shook the entire country after posting a sensational Tweet on his frustrations.
The 2008 Olympic Champion found himself in a rather defensive situation after the IAAF banned him for four years over what it termed as consumption of performance-enhancing substances.
In the decision that was backdated to May, 2018, Kiprop could only compete at the end of 2023!
A distraught Kiprop aired his frustrations on social Media, sending panic attacks throughout the country.
“I pray to National Police Service to dismiss me now. Before I use their machinery to earn myself justice. Kindly, IAAF come take your medals. I don’t need any on my house wall,” he posted Saturday afternoon.
Minutes after the post, Asbel Kiprop was to be the talk of town with various key national figures weighing in on his situations.
The newly sworn in Inspector General, Hillary Mutyambai came in fast, saying the athlete should be taken for counselling. His comments were echoed by a series of other social media users, who said depression was a real problem.
