Distressed Kenyan athlete Asbel Kiprop, who is serving a lengthy doping ban spent close to KSh 1 million on his mpango wa kando Nancy Cherotich.

The biggest recipient in Kiprop’s top 20 most active M-Pesa recipients is his wife Sammary Jerotich who received KSh 1.7 million, while his mother Julia Jepkosgei is second with KSh 979, 000.

According to the M-Pesa transaction posted by Kiprop , Nancy Cherotich is the third highest recipient of mobile money transfer from the 1500m specialist with KSh 965, 700.

Nancy is the woman he was seen with in a car filming themselves kissing and making dance moves in a video that went viral.

In the viral clip, Kiprop could be seen seated in the driver’s seat of his sleek SUV car having a good time with the lady positively identified as wife to Andrew Cherotich, a fellow runner and best friend to Kiprop.

Kiprop posted his M-Pesa transaction online in an attempt to try and prove his innocence that there was never an exchange of cash with an anti-doping agent as claimed by the IAAF in its report.

Interestingly, Kiprop had accused Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) doping control officer, Simon Mburi of extorting money from him when he went to take his urine for the test.

It was previously reported that the former Olympics champion, who is serving a four-year ban slapped on him by IAAF Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) last week, maintained his innocence.

The 1,500 metres runner who was found with traces of EPO in his system following a November 2017 test which he disclaimed, said he told Cherotich he had lost his athletic form due to missing training sessions at the expense of meeting his concubine.
