Sri Lanka Terrorists Read the Law, Identified Lacuna!

A lacuna in the law led to the death of some 253 people in the deadliest terrorist attack the country has ever seen in 10 years!

Speaking to reporters, Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesighe, said the island South-East Asian country has no jurisdiction that allows police to arrest people who have joined International terror groups.

Three sons of a wealthy spice trader in Sri Lanka are suspected to have been among the suicide bombers.

The three, described by the Deputy Defense Secretary as wealthy and well educated, are said to have detonated their explosives on foreigners in hotels and Christians observing Easter.

Police have heightened security in Colombo after the United States predicted that there may be further attacks.

The spice trader, Mr Mohamed Ibrahim, is also in custody after police indicated that he may have facilitated his sons in committing the act.

Investigators have poured into Sri Lanka even as authorities drastically reduced the death toll by more than 100 people.

The reasons cited are double entries and the possibility of different parts of the same person counted as those of various people.

Police have also admitted that they had earlier arrested one of the terror suspects but later released him for lack of evidence.

Is the law barring the arrest of Sri Lankans who have joined international terrorist groups helpful?
