Ruto rubs Wajir win in ODM’s face

The results of controversial Wajir West by-election have especially made Deputy President William Ruto a happy man.

This is as Jubilee Party’s Ahmed Kolosh on Thursday won the poll after garnering 11,053 votes.

He defeated Kanu’s Ibrahim Sheikh who came in second after garnering 6,532 votes.

This is as rival party ODM, led by Raila Odinga, bowed out of the polls after losing an Ugenya and Emakasi South by-election.

Then Wajir West candidate from ODM, Langat Kiprop cited “fears his candidature would create divisions in the community.”

A move that DP Ruto came quickly criticizing, predicting that it is high time the Wajir seat, which has over time been won by the ODM party, to be taken up by the seating government.

True to his predictions, the Jubilee party actually took the victory with them.

“The victory is testament to the confidence your constituents have on your ability and our party,” Ruto said in his congratulatory remarks to Mr Kolosh.
