Ole Gunnar’s smart response to Roy Keanes’ Manchester Derby Comment

Manchester United lost 2-0 to rivals City in the Manchester derby and so many former players were furious. Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about Roy Keane’s comments on the Manchester United squad – here’s his response

Roy keanne who played with Ole Gunnar for several years, assessed Man Utd critically before and after the Manchester derby defeat by Man City and could influence Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s thinking.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer often left it late as a player and continues to do so as a manager. It was gone 11pm by the time he breezed into the Old Trafford press conference room and answered the last nine questions of his media duties.

The boisterous Manchester City supporters who could be heard marching out of the stadium had long since left by the time Solskjaer arrived but some lubricated United supporters had lingered. “Eddie Woodward, he hasn’t a clue” some sang as they stumbled out of the Stretford End.

It was not a mutinous night and there was more gallows humour after the ‘Ole’ing at Goodison Park on Sunday. The Stretford End responded to Bernardo Silva’s breakthrough with ’20 times, Man United’ and were too busy exchanging barbs with ‘Berties’ to direct their ire towards the directors’ box. There was no banner to rip down.

“The wheels are falling off,” City fans goaded. “We’ve won the f*g lot,” the J Stand replied. Past glories count for little in the present.
