Kenyans should be shocked with how the family, especially Baringo Senator Gideon Moi have handled the whole issue.
First, Gideon in his own wisdom released a statement saying the family should be allowed to mourn their brother in private.
Being the son of a former President and a rally driver, Jonathan was a public figure. So why bar mourners from attending his burial.
It is because Gideon wanted to settle political scores with some people. He is basically using his brothers death for cheap political publicity.
On Wednesday, DP William Ruto was again denied from accessing Moi’s Kabarak home despite the fact that President Uhuru Kenyatta had seen him on Sunday. Can’t Gideon mature up for the sake of his departed brother?
Of course we know Ruto is very mature, he decided to visit Jonathan’s home in Kabimoi , where all mourners should be going.
On Thursday, Gideon allowed Kalonzo Musyoka, Francis Atwoli among others to see Moi. These people were accompanied by a battery of cameras for some political mileage.
Ruto is planning to attend Jonathan’s burial on Saturday. We are waiting to see if Gideon will again block him from meeting his old father.
But Gideon Moi should sack all his advisers, they are not only embarrassing him but also the legacy of his departed brother.
