President Uhuru Kenyatta sent out condolences for the death of former Commissioner General of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
John Paul Munge, but Kenyans gave backlash.

The president described the fallen commissioner as a “committed Kenyan who was always ready to use his professional skills to contribute to nation building.”

“The country has lost a patriot who served Kenyans with integrity,” he added.

However, his condolences were challenged by some of the Kenyan online who cited that the president is quick to condole any deceased top government officials but often stays mum when common civilians are slain.

This comes just a day after the president again publicly condoled with the Moi family for the loss former President Daniel Moi’s son, Jonathan Moi.

Is it then just a case of the president playing favorites or simply taking the lead in highlighting the importance of specific individuals to the nation as head of state?
