Spurs to demand huge sum from Manchester United for defender

Manchester United will have to pay more than they might have expected for Kieran Trippier despite Tottenham being ready to sell the right-back.

Express reports Tottenham have slapped a considerable £40m valuation on the England international, who has struggled to hit the heights of last season this time around.

United have their eye on Trippier as they work out how best to overhaul the squad Ole Gunnar Solskjaer inherited from Jose Mourinho in December.

But it remains to be seen whether they will be prepared to stump up what Spurs are asking for, particularly with Daniel Levy not fighting a deal.
