I am totally not against family trips and weekends out, but there are days when your wallet is not speaking the same language as your mind, and for real, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

You can consider having lunch out with your family or in, then have a family movie night. Trust me Netflix is your friend on this, their catalogue is quite large. If you’ll choose to have lunch in consider having it in your garden or the balcony, just to break the monotony and to give a relaxing mood.

So back to movies. In order to help you pick out a movie that both the adults and children in your family will love, here is a list of the top four movies that are guaranteed to keep all age groups thoroughly entertained.

1.) ‘Boss Baby’

When a kid suddenly becomes a big brother, he gets more than he expected and is shocked when he realizes that his parents brought home a baby brother that has a maturity level that is well beyond his years. While the parents are around, the baby seems like your average newborn. However, once they walk out of the room, his personality suddenly turns into a mean and dominating businessman. When the older brother finds out that the new baby is actually an undercover manager from BabyCo – the place where babies come from– and is sent on a secret mission, he decides to help out his new “brother” in hopes that the new baby will leave once his mission is completed.

The creators of this movie have ingeniously combined sibling rivalry with corporate espionage to give us a hilariously unique film that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. Alec Baldwin does a superb job of portraying a tough-as-nails baby. The parents, who are played by Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel, also do an excellent job of providing a subtle hint of comedic relief at various moments when the film needs it the most. Between the witty humor and the creative animations, kids and adults of all ages will love this movie.

2.) ‘Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie’

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie is a humorous animated movie based off of the Captain Underpants book series that was written by Dav Pilkey. The story is about two friends named George (voiced by Kevin Hart) and Harold (voiced by Thomas Middleditch) who get into a lot of trouble at school for their creative practical jokes. When their principal (voiced by Ed Helms) decides to put the two boys in separate classes, in hopes to stop them from constantly pranking, they decide to hypnotize him into thinking that he is a half-witted superhero named Captain Underpants.

The entire family will be laughing throughout the whole movie. Kevin Hart and Ed Helms are more notoriously known for their more adult humor, however, it is refreshing to see them in a children’s movie and still be just as funny as they usually are.

3.) ‘Daddy Day Care’

About a decade before Jeff Garlin became the dad on the hit TV show, The Goldbergs, he starred in a hilarious family comedy called Daddy Day Care. In this movie, two friends, played by Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin, suddenly find themselves unemployed. In a last-ditch attempt to find a way to start earning money, they decide to open a daycare center. Soon after they open, they hire an employee to help them out named Marvin (played by Steve Zahn). The three men soon find themselves in a hectic and hilariously chaotic situation as they try to take care of a bunch of small children all day.

If you are looking for a non-animated movie to watch with your family that is still able to deliver a lot of laughs and keep you entertained from beginning to end, then you will definitely want to check out this movie.

4.) ‘Coco’

In this vibrantly colorful animated movie, Anthony Gonzalez does a great job of providing the voice for Miguel, a young aspiring musician. After Miguel’s family put a band on music, he visits The Land of the Dead to find one of the greatest musicians of all time, Ernesto de la Cruz. Once he gets to The Land of the Dead, he finds a quirky and funny skeleton named Hector. Together they go on a funny, dangerous, and heartwarming adventure in order to uncover secrets that have been hidden in Miguel’s family for generations.

This movie is a computer-animated Disney-Pixar film that your entire family will love. Every scene of this film is filled with rich, vibrant colors. When you combine that with the unique plot and the hilarious dialogue, you get a movie that adults will definitely love just as much children do.
