Jonathan Toroitich Moi, the late son of former president Daniel Moi died on Friday,19th April at a Nakuru Hospital but his death was only made public the folowing day, 20th April, Saturday.
It has been revealed that Jonathan had been battling cancer for a long time
was under home care treatment but visited hospitals for check up.
JT, as he was popularly known, was Safari rally driver and once ran for Eldama Ravine parliamentary seat 2013 but lost. He had concentrated in running his business empire mainly farming are real estate.
Sources say, former president favourite son senator Gideon Moi (Baringo) was tasked in breaking the sad news to the elder Moi. The family kept the death a secret as it happened on Good Friday evening deciding to announce the following day.

“We the family of H.E Mzee Moi confirm the sad news on the passing on of Jonathan Toroitich.
Jonathan will be remembered for his daring exploits in the racing tracks, in muddy and dusty tracks, during this time of Easter.
He was amiable, social and down – to – earth and industrious human being.
We are distraught as family and we ask for your prayers and seek your understanding and indulgence to allow us mourn privately.
We will continue to inform Kenyans on need basis and further arrangements.”
