The former Bahati signed in artiste, Weezdom, parted ways with Bahati during the EMB mass exodus. Unlike other artistes who left, Weezdom still appreciates Bahati since it is through him he rose in the music industry.
Weezdom released his first song in the year 2016 after he was signed in by Bahati. He met Bahati just after he released hit song ‘Mama’. Bahati promised him that he would lift him up if he opens up his own studio. On starting his recording label, EMB, he signed in Weezdom as the first artiste.
While working with Bahati, he made his first song, ‘Fahamu’ and his second ‘Umenitoa far’. He later left EMB to work on his own since he felt Bahati had helped him too much and he did not know how he could pay him to show gratitude.
After being on his own, he felt he was not growing musically and needed to be under management. He looked for DJ Sadic to help him out and Sadic signed him in as the first artiste at his Genius Recording Label.
In working on his first song under Sadic, he collaborated with Janet Otieno in the song ‘Amka ucheze’. The song made him be nominated in the Groove awards as the new artist of the year, which he won.
During the awards, Willy Paul had been nominated for the video of the year category which he also won.
On being awarded, he said that he felt Weezdom deserved the video of the year award too and handed it to him. Weezdom has been operating under Sadic and has a new song ‘Wabebe’ which he released while ushering in the Easter holiday.
