The handshake shouldn’t divide us-Lenku Urges Jubilee

The new working relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga must be handled in a way not divide the Jubilee Party.

Kajiado Governor, Joseph Ole Lenku, claimed on Sunday the handshake was meant to fast-track development especially the implementation of the Big Four Agenda but that it is now “counter-productive”.

“The anticipated gains of the political truce could be counter-productive if it leaves Jubilee Party broken into pieces. The truce should help deliver on development and not disenfranchise some players in the Jubilee party,” claimed Lenku.

He said if Jubilee splits in the middle, the overall impact of the handshake would be diluted. “We need to fully support the President on development because that is the direction he has clearly given us,” added Lenku.
