The Kenya political scene is characterized by funny characters who could perfectly fit in a comedy show.
Recently a word of war was witnessed between Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu and Governor Sonko.
Sonko had accused Waititu of Smoking Bangi while at once stance Sonko leaked a conversation with Waititu.
Here are some of the similarities
Both served as Members of parliaments.
Waititu was once an MP for Embakasi as well as Kabete before running for Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
Sonko served as Makandara MP .
Both Ferdinand Waititu and Sonko are outspoken and most controversial politicians in Kenya. They aren’t afraid to speak their mind.
Both used to smoke bangi at parliament premises.
Waititu, alias Baba Yao, said his firm stand against illicit brews in his home county is a testimony of his resolve against drugs.
Waititu claimed Sonko’s utterances were merely a way of him trying to associate himself with his good track record in Kiambu.
They are activist,they are known for their hooliganism,they don’t hesitate to protect the interest of their electorates.
They aren’t taken serious despite holding senior offices.
n his rejoinder, Governor Sonko implied that Governor Waititu’s utterances were as a result of smoking too much bhang.
“I think he used to smoke a lot of bhang when he was an MP. I’m a witness to this. We used to go to a certain toilet there. We used to smoke a lot of bhang with him,” he said.
Governor Sonko once admitted that both him and Waititu can’t express themselves in English.
Waititu, on the other hand, has been the butt-end of odd jokes ever since speculations on his academic qualifications arose.
