From Shame To Fame: I used To Earn 500 Bob Chipukeezy Reveals

Every celebrity has their own story to tell. However, there is one striking character of their stories in that they rose from zero to hero. In fact, the most successful artistes we have in Kenya grew up in ghettos. People like Willy Paul, Bahati Kenya, Mr. Seed all grew up in poverty. Thank heavens there is always some light at the end of the tunnel.

The Director of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) Vincent Mwasia Mutua aka Chipukeezy shared his own story of how he started off.

On Thursday Night In an interview with Dr. Ofweneke, Chipukeezy revealed that his first job was very filthy, with poor pay.

“I used to work in a bar, belonging to Fred Omondi who owned a number of clubs in the City.” Chipukeezy said

“He used to pay us Ksh. 500 per day and that’s what I used to survive on. The NACADA.” boss added.

Chipukeezy, however, did not give up until he found himself in comedy which made him rise to fame while working with the King of Comedy in Kenya; Daniel Ndambuki AKA Churchill
