The West is known for exorbitant lifestyles and abundance of food. Surprisingly, Western Europe is rarely plagued by sickness and obesity.
One would imagine that main the reason lies in high-end medical facilities.
Then you would be wrong:
In fact, it has been determined that the main reason is in fact, a great eating culture. So much so that a large majority of the European population is much healthier, and actually spends less on URGENT medical treatment!
Here are some of the reasons why their eating culture is making them spend less hours visiting hospitals.
They Take Time to Prepare their Food
While food in Kenya is treated as a ‘by-the-way’ activity, Europeans take cooking quite seriously.
In fact, people in Europe simply seemed to care more about their food (and drinks!), and spend more time preparing them.
From collecting ingredients to chopping and cooking them patiently, careful food preparation was a point of pride.
After all, if they are going to put it into their bodies, isn’t it worth the time and effort?
Eat smaller portions.
In France, Europeans eat surprisingly small portions of dishes. For those who don’t know, it has a long-lasting effect on the body.
In fact, small portions means that your digestive system is worked less, meaning that your body has the time to expound its energy on other factors such as repairing worn out tissues.
They Take More time To Eat
Europeans are massive fans of a slow meal; especially one that’s broken into courses of small portion sizes – has benefits, since it allows your brain to get the message that you’re full before you’ve overeaten a supersized portion.
It is also beneficial to digestion and helps you enjoy the experience.
