A 25-year-old man from Zimbabwe, Mushumbi Pools was presented before the court on murder allegations. The man is said to have used a hammer to eliminate his father.
The man identified as Clive Jimmy of Bandayi village under Chief Chisunga in Mushumbi Pools allegedly killed his father with a hammer after he accused him of witchcraft.
He was not asked to plead when he appeared before Guruve resident magistrate Shingirai Mutiro, who remanded him in custody to April 24.
Carson Kundiona, representing the state, alleged that Clive was convinced by a Mbire traditional healer that family members had caused his mental sickness and failure to marry.
Clive thereupon took a hammer and smashed his father Idaek Jimmy 59, head. He was rushed to Parirenyatwa hospital where he died the following day.
