KFC makeover: KFC set to get a whole new face

Kentucky Fried Chicken acronymed KFC is undergoing a complete makeover, you know the middle-aged, bearded, spectacled cartoon man you’re used to seeing on the side of a KFC bucket? Well, get ready for a shock.

The fast-food chain has given him a rather interesting makeover and honestly, you’re probably not ready to see the results.

Fried chicken specialists KFC have turned their founder and mascot, Colonel Harland Sanders into a virtual Instagram Influencer and he’s left people up and down social media drooling.

Instead of a sweet old man, the Colonel has been transformed into a dashing silver fox complete with a tattoo on his abs that reads ‘Secret Recipe For Success’.

The company changed up their Instagram account several days ago, adding a new profile picture and some bizarre photo captions.

Their bio informs their 1.3 million followers that the Colonel is now a “virtual influencer”, who is “chasing the dream” and “selling chicken”.

KFC then began posting images of their new new computer-generated mascot. Yes, in case you hadn’t already realised, he’s not a real person folks.

In the photos, Sanders can be seen posing with his girlfriend, a fellow virtual human named Dagny, as well as travelling in his private jet, slapping on some Old Spice and riding a horse bareback.

All of the posts feature captions in the style of ‘influencers’ and use hashtags such as #humble, #grinding, #artistatwork, #gymlife, #beyourbestself and #influencerlife.

One caption reveals more about the Colonel, saying: “I may be a restaurant mogul and international inspiration, but I’m still just a kid who loves being in the kitchen. #humble It’s important never to lose sight of the things that make you who you are. For me, it’s being in the kitchen and making amazing fried chicken.”

KFC customers and fried chicken fans have been loving the company’s quirky marketing stunt and many are lusting over the new look Colonel.

One person said: “Only reason I’m going to KFC now.”

Another commented: “Boy gonna take your girl and leave you with a bucket of chicken and a side of potato wedges.”

A third added: “KFC making me thirsty.”

However, not everyone was impressed with the man’s upgraded appearance.

“Stop before McDonald’s makes Ronald hot please I’m begging you,” wrote someone else. A different user simply wrote: “Get back to the old Colonel.”

For those who haven’t had a glimpse of the new Colonel yet, he’s thought to be virtually manning KFC’s social media until April 22, according to Eater.
