The former Bomet governor also said CCM would popularise itself countrywide and enter into coalitions with political parties and individuals with common interests before the general election.

The ex-Bomet governor also called for an end to the ugly exchange of words among politicians and urged them to work together for development and harmony.

The CCM leader urged political leaders to stop politicizing the graft war by claiming it was targeting particular individuals or their community.

His sentiments come barely a week after some leaders wondered whether the DP is planning to work with former prime minister Raila Odinga 2022.

Political pundits believe that there are still chances of DP working with the former prime minister in 2022.

Already those opposing Ruto candidature fear there is still room for the DP and Raila working together in a strong political vehicle like the 2007 Pentagon team.

Raila lost to President Mwai Kibaki in the bitterly disputed election that led to post-election violence in which more than 1,300 people killed and thousands displaced.

“If Uhuru can work with Raila then I can not rule out Raila and Ruto working together in the coming elections. I have once worked with them in the Pentagon and they know each other well,” former Cooperatives minister Joseph Nyagah told the Star.
