There was panic in Nyaribo Village, Nyeri County on Monday morning when residents found the body of one Mary Wangui in a pool of blood.
The woman is reported to have moved in with her friend after leaving her matrimonial home. The suspected murderer is said to be her husband, with whom they had domestic wrangles.
Wangui’s friend Catherine Karimi said that the estranged lover had traced her whereabouts and found her just a day before killing her.
“It is as if this man was waiting outside ready to strike any time opportunity came his way and that’s he took advantage of the few minutes I walked outside the house to kill,” she said.
She was found stabbed on the neck, leading to her death after profuse bleeding.
The suspect remains at large and a manhunt has been launched.
