There are men in the world who think romance is opening a door for a woman, or sending her money to make her hair.
But there are also men who make you believe that romance isn’t dead. A bunch of said men have described the most romantic thing they’ve done.

The Scavenger Hunt
The last valentines day I spent with my girlfriend of 5 years I set up a little surprise for her.
We had been dating since our junior year of highschool and partway way through college when she got accepted into a program at a school a couple of states away. I wanted this to be a valentines day she would remember.
I sent her on a scavenger hunt armed only with an envelope full of instructions and a prepaid debit card. The instructions gave hints about various items that could be purchased at different stores in the mall.
Each item was something I knew she would be able to guess fairly easily based on the hints and were either something I knew she wanted or were little inside jokes that were significant to our relationship, such as a tube of her favorite lip gloss which was always running out so quickly...
After she found all of the small little gifts the instructions led her to a spot in the mountains that overlooks the valley we live in, where I was waiting for her.
This is where i gave her her actual gift, which was a picture frame of some pictures she didn’t know i had kept from the first couple years of our relationship.
We spent about 45 minutes up there watching the sunset and afterwards we went back to my place where I cooked her a romantic dinner and drank some wine. One of the most memorable nights of my life.
Writing A Beautiful Book
To propose to my girlfriend I spent about a week hand creating a book for her. It was a choose your own adventure style book.
I wrote the story of how her and I met and some of our major milestone in our 7 year relationship. I also had pictures of us and our best times as background for the pages. The book was title “The Story of Us” it ended with asking her one last choice, “will you marry me?”
And I made the back of the book a little thicker, cut out a square and tied the ring inside. I then glued down a page over so she could open it like a gift. When I gave her the book I hid a flip camera and recorded her reading it while I followed along on one knee next to her.
Arrange An Amazing Date
For one of our dates, I bought an inflatable mattress, bouquet of red roses, and a bottle of champagne.
I went out before the date began and found this creek hidden away in the woods. I inflated the mattress and placed it into the water.
Next, I placed the bottle of champagne and roses on top of the mattress. I left to pick up my date and brought her back to the ‘boat’ I made for her.
I gave her a sharpie and let her name the boat. Then I busted out my violin and serenaded her as we drifted around on the water.
Surprise Her in The Most Creative Way
One Valentines day, when we both had school and work all day and late into the evening, we both promised we’d just celebrate the next day.
At 11:30 I somehow got some great driving “F**k That Noise” notion in my head, because next thing I know I’m running down to the local convenience, grabbed a big bristle board, red marker, chocolates and the leftover heart-shaped valentines balloons.
I get to her house just before midnight, balloons attached to the bristle board, and float the thing up to her second floor bedroom, then throw a pebble at said window.
I wrote, hastilly “Happy Valentines Day! From that guy down there” and an arrow pointing down to me, holding the string keeping the whole thing from floating away. She still has it, I think.
