Then Kiambu Governor William Kabogo was on a mission to eradicate illicit brews in his area and on this day on July 2015 he was to set ablaze over 10 tonnes of illicit liquor confiscated from a manufacturer in Thika.
When he lit the liquor mountain, the flammable spirits exploded, forcing Kabogo, his employees and spectators run for their lives.
