Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has assured Kenyans that they will still access Government services even if they don’t have the Huduma Namba.

Speaking in Meru after launching the registration exercise, Kalonzo however urged Kenyans to register for security purposes and for ease of statistics.

Meru County Commissioner Allan Macharia said the County is at 48% in registration and expressed optimism that those who haven’t registered will register before the exercise is over.

Meru Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu who was also in attendance congratulated the residents for the registrations done so far and urged them to put more effort.

And in Nakuru County, residents have urged the Government to increase the number of clerks at the “huduma namba” registration points.

The residents who turned up for the exercise say the long queues were discouraging even as they expressed optimism the new cards will ease access to services.

The government launched the 45 day registration exercise early this month to enhance public service delivery in Kenya.

The residents have however faulted a section of politicians and members of the clergy for undermining the programme with the aim of scaring away the citizens from embracing digital registration

Meanwhile in Hola Coast Regional Commissioner John Elungata says the number of residents turning out to register for Huduma Namba in the region was encouraging.

He said at least 400,000 residents had turned out in the six counties to register in the first eight days of the exercise.
