At 48 years old, Danson Mungatana is now a pale shadow of himself. Things have not been well for the former Garsen MP, since losing his position in Parliamentary position after the 2013 General Elections.
And they may get worse, if he is convicted for the fraud case in which he is accused of defrauding the County government of Kilifi of more that sh. 50 million shillings.
Things are not going well for the ‘Crocodile-eater’ of Tana River County, who at one time was the center of attraction for many women.
You see Mungatana had everything that a woman would want. Handsome, impeccable Swahili, learned and with connections thanks to his political career.
Mungatana topped his class at Alliance High School, before graduating with a degree in Trade and Investment Law from of University of Nairobi.
Unfortunately, he will be remembered for his love for women and not his brains.
The Bible says in the book of Proverbs that ‘Do not spend all your energy on sex and all your money on women, they have been known to destroy kings’
Unfortunately, Mungatana did not heed this advise despite being an astute Christian in his heydays.
In 2016, news broke that the former MP was dating former Miss Kenya, and anti-jigger campaigner, Cecilia Mwangi.
In fact the couple have a daughter together. This is despite Mungatana being in a relationship with K24 journalist Mwanaisha Chidzuga.
In fact Mwanaisha refuted the claims that she was sharing a man with Cecilia at the time.
“Kindly note that I Mwanaisha Chidzuga was never a co-wife to one Cecilia Mwangi. Please stop dragging my name and that of my family into this madness,” she wrote, adding that her relationship with Mungatana was as tight as ever.
With all the confidence, you’d think that Mwanaisha was the first wife of Mungatana, this is far from the truth.
Last month, news broke that Mungatana’s first wife Violet had succumbed to cancer. Violet was eulogized by among others DP William Ruto.
Violet, also a lawyer, had birthed the politician three children. The couple is rumored to have had a law firm in Mombasa before he joined politics.
Last year, Mungatana lost sh. 76 million to West African ‘wash-wash’ guys who had promised to multiply the money into billions.
Some times we become so desperate, especially when we want to satisfy all the beautiful women in my life.
Mungatana is a perfect example, of how women can sink a promising man.
