Deputy president William Ruto has registered for huduma number amid satanic allegation by churches in Kenya.
On photos circulating online, the DP is seen lining for the exercise accompanied by his son Nick Ruto.
President Uhuru Kenyatta launched the exercise last week in Machakos County where he refuted the claim by clergies that the number is associated with the satanic 666.
Uhuru said that the number is aimed to simplify the mode of operations and ensure that the baggage of too many cards is eliminated.
“The number isn’t associated with satan or whatever, its aimed to simplify the mode of operation and reduce the baggage of too many cards,” he said.
Two days ago,Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli urged Deputy President William Ruto to declare his stand on Huduma Namba.
“Watu wa tangatanga hawajaambia watu wachukue. Watu wa Rift valley wanasema wanangojea Ruto awaambie,” Atwoli said.
This loosely translates to, “The Tangatanga group has not told people to get Huduma Namba. Rift Valley residents say they are waiting for Ruto to give them the go ahead.”
Atwoli spoke on Saturday during a stewards’ forum in Gikomba.
